Explore Nevada Country Wineries
Nevada County is the perfect wine tasting destination for a California wine tour. The magnificent mountains and natural beauty of the area create the perfect setting. It’s fun to explore historic towns of the area. Grass Valley, Nevada City, and Truckee are the largest towns in this area.
Nevada County vineyards benefit from air moving in from the Pacific Coast into the Sierra Nevada Mountains. These ocean breezes result in warm autumn days and cool nights. This gives grape growers more time to let the grapes ripen on the vine. This means that the grapes are full rich, balanced flavor by the time they are picked.
You are sure to enjoy tasting the mountain grown wines of Nevada County. You may want to stay an extra day or two to have time for activities. You can camp, fish, boat or hike. There’s also snow skiing, whitewater rafting, hiking, golfing, and horseback riding. The small historic towns have unique shops, theatre, and restaurants to try.
