El Dorado County April 6-7 & April 13-14: Wine Adventures Passport Weekends 2019 – El Dorado County
Explore the wineries of El Dorado County during two passport weekends during April 2019. Sample wine paired wth delicious appetizers at more than 20 mountain wineries.

The wineries are scattered around the county but you will find that most of the El Dorado County Wineries are located near the historic towns of Placerville and Fairplay. It’s a rural area with uncrowded scenic roads.

Point Loma San Diego April 13: VinDiego Wine & Food Festival – San Diego
More than 300 wines will be available to taste at this annual event. Award winning wineries from Napa, Sonoma, Paso Robles, Santa Barbara, Lodi, Oregon, Santa Lucia Highlands, Temecula and San Diego will be pouring their wines. Top chefs will be serving food samples for you to enjoy. The ever-popular VinDiego Silent Auction takes place during the event. Jimmy & Enique will be the musical headliners this year.

While in San Diego, make time to explore this growing wine region. The historic mining town of Julian in the foothills east of San Diego is worth a visit. There are a number of wine tasting rooms located in this charming town with others located nearby. Find additional wineries in San Diego’s North County in and around the towns of Rancho Bernardo, Fallbrook, and Escondido. All worth exploring!

Santa Cruz Mountains
April 20: Passport Day – Santa Cruz
Passport Days are held quarterly throughout the year at Santa Cruz wineries. April 2019 is a great time to go wine tasting in this scenic region. Some wineries that are not normally open to the public will open their doors to visitors for passport days.
Special events are planned at participating wineries.

Santa Cruz is increasingly being recognized for producing award-winning wine. Most wineries are small, family owned businesses. Some tasting rooms are looking in the city of Santa Cruz while others are spread out in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Enjoy the California Redwoods, the Pacific Ocean, delicious wine, and the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk all in one day!

This event claims to be “the largest international Rhône wine gathering on the planet!”. Experience wine tastings, seminars, a variety of special meals, and a live auction. Purchase tickets to each event individually or buy a weekend pass!

Paso Robles is especially known for the great Zinfandel that is produced in the area. However, many you find many other varieties of wine that you are sure to enjoy. Theres are hundreds of wineries just waiting to be explored.

Dana Point California SunsetApril 26-27: California Wine Festival – Orange County
This popular wine festival lets you enjoy both wine and the California Coast. This seaside location in Dana Point is the ideal place to enjoy wine, food, music, sea and sun. Wineries will be pouring hundreds of red and white wines while top chefs will be serving gourmet appetizers. A variety of live entertainers will be performing. This is sure to be a fun day at the beach!

When Orange County is mentioned, most people think immediate of Disneyland. However, there are a number of wineries with tasting rooms located in the area.


San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge April 27: Taste of Mendocino – San Francisco
This event showcases the wine and food of Mendocino County, but takes place at Fort Mason in San Francisco. Over 30 Mendocino wineries will be pouring their world class wines while Mendocino County artisanal food producers will be serving up delicious bites to complement the wines. You will be able to purchase wine and artisanal foods at the event. Come savor the flavors of Mendocino!

Fresno County Wineries
April 27-28: North Sierra Wine Trail Bring Out the Barrels – Oroville
Enjoy wine tasting at the 16 wineries of the North Sierra Wine Trail. These wineries are located near the cities of Oroville and Dobbins. April 2019 is the perfect time to explore this undiscovered wine region.


Dry Creek Valley April 27-28: Passport to Dry Creek Valley
Purchase a one or two-day passport that allows you to taste wine at more than 40 wineries in the beautiful Dry Creek Valley. Experience special food and wine pairings. Options are available for special dinners, vineyard lunches, live music, and vineyard and wine tours.

There’s also a silent auction with proceeds benefiting Friends of the Children’s Library. This is sure to be a day of fun all for a great cause!

Events in the Wine Country – February 2019

This is the month for crab feeds, wine and chocolate festivals, and a variety of special wine tasting opportunities. The top events this month are scattered across the state from Mendocino in the north to Santa Barbara in the south. Don’t miss the fun!

February 2: Great Sonoma Crab Feed – Santa Rosa
Crab Fest

Enjoy award winning wines paired with gourmet hors d’oeuvres prepared by local chefs. Dine on fresh Sonoma Coast crab and accompaniments. Participate in both live and silent auctions benefiting local agriculture educational programs.

February 9-10: February 9-10: Port, Wine & Chocolate Lovers Weekend – Old Sugar Mill, Clarksburg

Admission includes wine tastings at all fourteen wineries, barrel tasting, chocolate tastings, live demonstrations, sweet & savory pairings, and live music & entertainment.

The Old Sugar Mill is an historic building (circa 1934) located in the scenic Sacramento Delta just 20 minutes south of Sacramento. Today the building houses a unique community of fourteen wineries.


February 1-10: San Francisco Beer Week – SF Bay Area

Join the fun run along the San Francisco marina. Participate in multiple beer tastings, seminars, and release parties. Take a guided walking beer tour.

February 9-10: Lodi Wine & Chocolate Weekend

Each of the wineries will celebrating this weekend. As you travel from winery to winery you’ll enjoy live music, food, a photo booth, art show, special tastings, and a variety of wine discounts. This is one of the most popular events in the wine country this month.


February 9-10: Wine & Chocolate Weekend – Madera

Wine and ChocolateThe Madera Wine Trail’s family wineries will host the 17th annual “Wine & Chocolate Weekend” from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Enjoy wine tasting at participating wineries, chocolate sampling, live music, and delicious food.

Tickets are available online or at participating wineries.


February 9-10 and February 16-17: Valentine Day Weekends – Placer County
Happy Valentines Day
Placer County wineries invite you to come fall in love with the Placer County Wine Trail. They’re celebrating Valentine’s Day for two full weekends in a row. Enjoy special treats, sweets, special tastings, and live music. This is not a ticketed event. Individual wineries are each planning their own celebration.

It’s the perfect time to explore the wineries in Placer County! These wineries are located in the Sierra Foothills American Viticultural Area (AVA). Most are small, family owned wineries with their own vineyards. A unique experience!


February 15-18: Wine Country Weekend – Santa Ynez Valley
Toasting with White Wine
Visit participating wineries to meet the winemakers, taste reserve and estate wines, and enjoy delicious appetizers. Each passport holder will receive a souvenir wine glass and a wine tote bag.

February 16: San Francisco Chronicle Wine Tasting – San Francisco

February 23-24: Anderson Valley Winter White Wine Weekend – Mendocino County

February 23: How to Taste Wine in 90 Seconds – Napa
