What’s Happening in the Wine Country – July 2017
July 1: Red, White, and Blue Extravaganza
Visit Clear Lake for a barbecue, wine tasting, and live music. Dance to the live music of Blues Farm. Participate in a blind tasting of over 30 Lake County wines. Vote for you favorites. Winners will be announced toward the end of the event.
July 4: Independence Day on the Napa Valley Wine Train
If you are looking for a unique way to celebrate our nation’s birthday, this is it! Indulge yourself with a multiple course gourmet dinner on this 3.5 hour journey in the Napa Valley. Stop for a front row seat to view the Yountville fireworks from the comfort of this luxurious train.
July 8: 6th Annual Oyster Festival
Head to Avila Beach on July 8 for one of the op 10 Oyster Festivals in the country. Located just south of San Luis Obispo, July is the perfect time to enjoy this section of California’s stunning Coast. Enjoy an entire day of live music, local wines, fresh oysters along with other delicious food.
July 14-15: 7th Annual Mammoth Food & Wine Experience
If you need a reason to spend a weekend in beautiful Mammoth Lakes, this is it. Taste wine at over 25 of California’s finest wineries and food from local restaurants. Attend an interesting seminar. Enjoy live entertainment. Participate in both a live and silent auction.
July 15: Healdsburg Water Carnival
This family friendly event provides for a full day of fun in the sun. Spend the day on the Russian River near Healdsburg in Sonoma County. Experience barrel races in the river, a rubber duck race with prizes, a river slide, boat ride, kayak tours, and pedal boat rides. Also enjoy face painting, community booths, music, dancing, and food.
July 15 and 29: Niles Canyon Railway Wine Tasting Special – Livermore Valley
Board a train and ride through the scenic Niles Canyon west of Livermore. Sip Livermore wines specially paired with tasty hors d’oeuvres. Wine tasting will be led by Steve Ferree, a certified wine professional. It’s sure to be an afternoon of fun. Wine Tasting excursions will be available on additional dates in August and September.
July 20-23: Taste Our Terroir
Experience a variety of exciting food and wine events in the Livermore Wine Country. This four day event will include cooking classes, wine seminars, vineyard tours, special wine tastings, and food and wine pairings. There’s even a cooking competition of chefs where guests get to vote for the winning chef.
July 22-23: Barrel Tasting Weekend – Anderson Valley
Spend a weekend in Mendocino County’s Anderson Valley. Summer is the ideal time to barrel taste the fabulous Pinot Noirs produced here. The wines are at their best and about to be bottled. Futures will be available for sale on wines that won’t be released until next year. Discover some great wines and explore this beautiful area.
July 30: Taste of Camarillo Wine, Brew & Food Festival
Sample fine wine, craft beer, and gourmet food at the historic Camarillo Ranch in Ventura County. Dance to the live country music of the popular band, Caught Red Handed. It’s sure to be an afternoon of fun!
