Give this fabulous lamb stew recipe a try. You won’t be sorry. This is a great meal for a cool winter evening. Serve with your favorite Pinot Noir for a gourmet treat. A hearty, flavorful dish!

Wine Pairing: A Pinot Noir would enhance the flavors of this lamb stew. Consider the wonderful D’Argenzio Pinot Noir Thorn Ridge Ranch. Lush wine with rich fruit flavors and hints of cloves and tobacco. Earthy and delicious to drink. Grapes for this wine are grown in Sonoma’s Russian River Valley. The sandy loam soil and climate produces a Pinot Noir with intense fruit flavors.

Chocolate Butterfingers
Chocolate butterfingers are delicious rice krispie and peanut butter treats that are dipped in melted chocolate. These chewy treats are a long time family favorite. They are perfect for those with a chocolate craving.

This is probably the most requested dessert by my children, co-workers and friends. Everyone wants the recipe and everyone begs me to make them again (and again)!

Ingredients for Chocolate Butterfingers:
6 cups Rice Krispies
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1 cup Karo syrup
1 cup sugar
1 12 oz. package semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 stick of parafin
1 package of wooden skewers

Instructions for Butterfingers:melted chocolate
1. Add peanut butter, Karo syrup, and sugar to a large pan. Stir over medium heat until sugar is dissolved.
2. Stir in the rice krispies. Mix well.
3. Shape rice krispie mixture into 2-3 inch long “finger” shaped pieces.
4. Refrigerate fingers for one hour.
5. Meanwhile, melt chocolate chips and parafin in the top of a small double-boiler.
6. Spread wax paper out on counter top.
7. Insert a wooden stick into each of the “fingers”. Dip into the chocolate mixture. Lay to set on the wax paper.

Butterfingers will freeze well. I like to make them advance and freeze for later use. One word of caution, though: Don’t let anyone know they’re in the freezer or they may just disappear!
