Marin County California
Marin County California is located north of San Francisco. It’s a short drive across the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco to Marin County. Sonoma County borders Marin to the north. San Rafael and Novato are the two largest cities in the county.

This region is known best for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Influenced by its proximity to the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay, Marin is an ideal location for the production of these cool weather wines.
Make sure you pay a visit to John Muir National Monument. Take a walk through these majestic redwoods. Spend an hour or so at the visitor’s center. Walk the short 1/2 mile loop that gives you a peek at the beauty of this forest. Or spend the day enjoying the serenity if this beautiful park. There are a variety of hiking trails, picnic areas, and a snack bar.
