Cabernet Sauvignon is the classic wine to pair with steak. The tannins in this wine are strong enough to balance with the strong flavors and fat content in the steak. Drink the same wine as you enjoy your steak that you use in the marinade. You can find a fabulous Cabernet Sauvignon in a every price range. Open a bottle of your favorite Cabernet. Ingredients for Steak Marinade Recipe #1 – Cabernet Sauce

1/2 cup Cabernet Sauvignon
1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
2 cloves garlic, chopped
2 teaspoons black pepper
4 tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Instructions for Steak Marinade #1 – Cabernet Sauce

1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl.
2. Marinate meat for 4 hours (or overnight) in the bowl of sauce. Turn the meat to coat all sides with the sauce. After a few hours turn the meat to thoroughly coat with sauce.
3. Cook steaks as desired.


Ingredients for Steak Marinade #2 – Lemon Garlic

6 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon oregano
1 white onion, chopped
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1/3 cup olive oil
freshly ground pepper, to taste
1/2 teaspoon celery salt
1/3 cup lemon juice

Instructions for Steak Marinade #2 – Lemon Garlic

1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl.
2. Marinate steak for at least one hour in the bowl of sauce. Marinate for as long as 6 hours. Lemon juice will make the steak more tender. Tougher cuts of meat require longer marinating times. Tender cuts of steaks should marinate for just an hour. Turn the meat to coat all sides with the sauce.
3. Cook steaks as desired.
