May 2019 is here and there are lots of fun things happening throughout California. Make plans now to attend these events as many of them will sell out.

Go wine tasting along the beautiful California Coast or in the rugged foothills of the Sierra Nevada. Learn about fun things happening throughout the state from San Diego to Mendocino County.

May 4: Spring Weekend – Santa Barbara

Taste wines from over 100 Santa Barbara wineries. Drop by the Bubble Lounge to relax and sample sparkling wines from the area. Watch live cooking demonstrations and sample organic foods. Note: Discounted tickets are available to residents of Santa Barbara County.

May 4-5: Hopland Passport Weekend – Mendocino County
Ten wine tasting venues will offer wine tasting paired with small bites, plus special bargains on wine purchases. This two day May 2019 event is the ideal time to explore the Hopland area of Mendocino County. Plan to also attend the the Hopland Firefighter’s Annual BBQ & Dance featuring retro-rockabilly sensation Derek Irving & His Combo. Sure to be a fun way to spend a Saturday evening!

Sample wine from over 40 vintners at the gorgeous Lester Estate overlooking the scenic San Joaquin River. Enjoy food, a silent auction, and a raffle. The proceeds from this charity event will benefit Valley Public Radio. Fresno is located in the heart of California’s San Joaquin Valley, a rich agricultural area.

Red Wine in Glasse4s May 7-9: Adult Wine Camp – Murphys
It’s a camp just for adults! Wine Campers participate in hands-on learning experiences working with winery owners and winemakers. Taste fabulous wines from Calaveras County and delicious food as well. Enjoy two days and two nights of fun that is also educational.

La Jolla CoveMay 11: Junior League of San Diego’s Food & Wine Festival – La Jolla
Enjoy the spectacular scenery of the La Jolla Cove while sipping wine and beer and munching on gourmet bites. There will be live music and a silent auction with exciting items on which to bid at this May 2019 event.

Pouring WineMay 11-12: El Dorado Hills Art, Beer, and Wine Festival
This annual festival is a two day event that features more than 80 artists from both near and far, displaying their fine art. There will be plenty of delicious food and live music. The event is free, but you will need to purchase tickets to sample the award-winning wine and beer.


Sonoma Valley
May 16-19 Signature Sonoma Valley

Discover the Sonoma Valley wine region at the weekend event. Attend wine seminars. Enjoy special wine tastings, live music, and gourmet food prepared by chefs in the area. Tour vineyards. This is a unique opportunity to learn about the wines, terroir, and people of the Sonoma Valley.

The Sonoma Valley is located in the southeastern corner of Sonoma County adjacent to the Napa Valley. Many world class wineries are located in this region. Experience Sonoma Valley wineries.


Paso Robles Downtown Park May 16-19: Paso Robles Wine Festival
There are a wide range of wine tasting events packed into 4 days of fun. More than 70 wineries will be pouring their wines at the Grand Tasting at the Paso Robles Downtown City Park. Wineries at the Grand Tasting will be arranged by regions: Bordeaux-style, Rhône-style, Zinfandel, Burgundian-style, Italian varieties and Other Wild Wines for your tasting pleasure.

Zinfest May 17-19: Zinfest – Lodi
Taste more than 200 Lodi wines at The ZinFest Grand Tasting at Lodi Lake on Saturday, May 18. Take in a fun and educational session at the wine or BBQ schools, play lawn games, hang out in the ZinFest Music Lounge or at the Main Stage, and meet the local winemakers.

Anderson Valley Pinot Noir FestivalMay 17-19: Anderson Valley Pinot Noir Festival
Sample Anderson Valley Pinot Noir (plus rosé and sparkling wines) from more than 40 producers, enjoy food pairings by local chefs, and listen to live music. Enjoy educational seminars, winemaker dinners, a BBQ, grand tasting, a silent auction, and free winery open houses.

Anderson Valley is worth exploring and this is the weekend to do it!


Livermore Wine CountryMay 18: Downtown Livermore Street Fest
This is your opportunity to explore the boutiques and restaurants of downtown Livermore while tasting both wine and craft beers from the local area. Interact with Livermore wine and beer experts. Enjoy live entertainment. Bring the kids to enjoy the fun and games being planned for them.

ConcertMay 24-26: BottleRock Music & Food Festival – Napa Valley
This popular Napa Valley event usually sells out. So, get your tickets early! More than 80 bands will perform during the 3 day event on five different stages. Chefs will perform on the Culinary Stage. Enjoy wine, craft beer, and specialty cocktails. Check the website for the various ticket options and to learn more about the performers.


May 25: Rotary’s Art & Wine Festival – Mariposa
Enjoy art and wine on the courthouse lawn. This historic courthouse was built in 1854. Proceeds from this annual event go to support local non-profit causes in Mariposa. Mariposa is a small town located in the rugged Sierra Nevada foothills not far from Yosemite National Park.
