Gallo Center for the Arts – Incredible Venue

Gallo Center for the Arts Modesto CaliforniaGallo Center for the Arts is the place to go for entertainment in the Central Valley. The Gallo Center is located in downtown Modesto. This beautiful facility offers a wide variety of performances that include music, comedy, broadway, dance, and theater. They also feature special shows for children.

The lobby is elegant and spacious. Each level has its own concession stand. Wine, beer, and other beverages are sold as well as a variety of light snacks. We usually have dinner before the show at one of the many restaurants that are walking distance to the theater.

There are two theaters inside the Gallo Center. Mary Stuart Roger Theater is the larger of the two. It seats 1,250. Foster Family Theater is a smaller, more intimate theater with a capacity of 444. A friendly volunteer usher guides visitors to their seats.

We’ve attended many different events here and have found that all of the seats are comfortable. The roomiest seats are the upper level box seats. There really isn’t a bad seat in the house. There’s a good view of the stage from every seat. In fact, our seats of choice are in the balcony where each row is higher than the row in front of you for great viewing.

The Gallo Center is a state-of-the-art performing arts complex that offers great entertainment at affordable prices. Check out their list of upcoming events. Visitors from out of the area may want to plan a get-a-way to this area. Consider a day of wine tasting in the nearby Lodi Wine Country. Lodi was recently named the Best Wine Region by Wine Enthusiast Magazine.

The Uptown Theatre Napa

Uptown Theatre NapaThe Uptown Theatre Napa is Napa’s downtown destination for live entertainment. This beautifully restored art deco theatre features musical events, comedy shows, and more.

This historical landmark with just 860 seats is an intimate setting. Wherever your seat is located, you’ll be happy. There really isn’t a bad seat in the house!

Napa Earthquake Update

The 6.0 earthquake that struck Napa on August 24, 2014 damaged the ceiling at the Uptown Theatre. The building has been inspected and it has been determined that the building itself is structurally sound.

The theatre was temporarily closed while repairs were done to the ceiling. However, the repairs are complete and the theatre is open for business.

This theatre has quickly become a popular venue for both Napa Valley locals and visitors to the valley. It’s so relaxing to sit in soft, cushy seats while watching your favorite artists perform. Both the sound system and the lighting is excellent.

We love the upscale, nostalgic ambiance. If you’re really into the music, it’s possible to step outside your row and dance in the aisles!

Come early for dinner and a show. There are a variety of restaurants in the area around the theatre, but there is also a cafe in the building. The Courtyard Cafe is open one hour before the show and during intermission as well. Enjoy a meal, wine, beer, or other beverage.

If you haven’t yet attended an event at this theater, don’t wait any longer! Click on the link below to learn about upcoming performances. Parking is free. You can park on the street or at any of the various city parking lots in the area.
